Georgie Boy

The Idea

When Georgie Boy, a popular Mexican shoe store, approached us to help revamp their brand identity, we knew we wanted to create something that would resonate with their audience and bring a playful, engaging element to their image. The idea was to create a series of charming 3D characters that would not only showcase the fun and vibrant nature of the brand but also make it more relatable and memorable for customers. These characters would serve as brand mascots, embodying the youthful, dynamic spirit of Georgie Boy while also adding a distinctive, eye-catching touch to their promotional materials.

The challenge was to create characters that could interact with audiences through expressive facial animations and gestures, while seamlessly fitting into Georgie Boy’s new look and feel.


The Process


We started with initial concept sketches, brainstorming ideas for the characters’ design and how they would embody the brand’s playful energy. After finalizing the sketches, we moved into 3D modeling using Blender, meticulously crafting every detail to ensure that each character had a unique, recognizable personality. The character designs were intentionally kept round and approachable, with soft shapes and bright colors that appeal to all ages.


One of the more technical aspects of this project was the special facial rigging we developed for the characters. Since they needed to talk and express themselves, we designed a custom rig that allowed for smooth and dynamic facial expressions. This rig gave the characters the ability to smile, blink, and even lip-sync, making them highly engaging for video content and potential future animations.

Once the modeling and rigging were complete, we focused on texturing the characters to bring them to life visually. Using Substance Painter, we added the finishing touches, ensuring that their materials had just the right look for Georgie Boy’s brand identity—vibrant, polished, and full of charm.
